Tim Hudak Joins Niagara Families to Rally Against the HST

NEWS:

Today Tim Hudak joined hundreds of Ontario PC Party members in Niagara Falls to protest Dalton McGuinty’s latest tax hike – the $3 billion HST tax grab.

In just over a month, Dalton McGuinty’s HST will officially kick in and Ontario seniors and families will start paying more for gas, electricity, home heating fuel and dozens of other everyday goods and services that you rely on most.   Earlier this month in a cleansing moment of honesty, McGuinty himself was forced to admit that the tax burden on families will go up.

Since 2007 Dalton McGuinty has also presided over increases in auto insurance, electricity costs, university tuition and property taxes.  When combined with the HST, the price increases on this basket of goods and services alone add up to $2,700.

QUOTES

“Dalton McGuinty broke his promise not to raise taxes and today, every Ontario family is forced to pay more and get less.  We will replace Dalton McGuinty’s addiction to tax and spend with a government that respects how much Ontario families already pay.”

– Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak

“Ontario family budgets are already under siege.  That’s why I will continue to fight the HST and Dalton McGuinty’s other tax increases.“

– Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak
